About Us

WHY CHOOSE US

The South African Youth Business Chamber (SAYBC) is the apex body for youth in business and entrepreneurship in South Africa, dedicated to driving real economic empowerment, participation, and ownership among young entrepreneurs. As a national, youth-led organization, SAYBC champions the growth of youth enterprises and works to position young people at the centre of South Africa’s economic future. Rooted in the principles of free and open markets, SAYBC is committed to fostering a thriving business environment where youth are at the forefront of innovation, trade, and economic growth. Our Chamber operates:

  • As a catalyst for removing structural barriers
  • Challenging outdated economic models,
  • And advancing the full participation of youth in the country’s economic development.

SAYBC envisions a future where young entrepreneurs are not only participants but leaders in the domestic and continental markets. We stand firm in our belief that meaningful empowerment is achieved through ownership, access tomarkets, and the creation of generational wealth — not through tokenistic policies or dependence on the state.

Our future lies in the full realization of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), where South Africa’s youth-led businesses become players in the continental economy. We will leverage this Chamber to create the networks, influence policies, and unlock the capital necessary to make young South African entrepreneurs the face of Africa’s rising economies. The time is now — the age of true economic freedom for the youth has begun..

The South African Youth Business Chamber (SAYBC) envisions a South Africa where youth are no longer passive recipients of economic handouts but are active drivers of wealth creation, entrepreneurship, and industrialization. We see a future where the country’s young entrepreneurs lead the charge in shaping competitive markets, dismantling inherited structural inequalities, and securing a meaningful stake in both domestic and continental economies. Our vision is rooted in creating a free, open, and inclusive economy — one that rewards innovation, hard work, and ownership rather than racial quotas or dependency on state-driven programs.

Our mission is to advocate for policies that promote free-market access and reduce state dependency while strengthening youth participation in both domestic and global trade. We are committed to facilitating access to the AfCFTA, dismantling in effective and exclusionary policies like BEE, and providing youth with the tools, resources, and networks necessary to compete and succeed in open markets. By promoting ownership and private sector-driven empowerment, SAYBC seeks to position South African youth as critical drivers of the country’s economic resurgence.
