The South African Youth Business Chamber (SAYBC) is driven by a clear and ambitious set of goals aimed at transforming the economic landscape for youth entrepreneurs in South Africa and across Africa. Our goals are rooted in the belief that young people are the key to unlocking sustainable economic growth and should be empowered to take charge of their financial futures through free market access, entrepreneurship, and ownership.
Empowering Youth Entrepreneurs
Our primary goal is to provide over 100 000 youth entrepreneurs with the resources, tools, and support they need to build sustainable businesses. This includes access to capital, mentorship, business development programs, and opportunities for networking and partnerships. We aim to remove systemic barriers that hinder the growth of youth-owned businesses and ensure that young people are given the platform to thrive in a competitive market environment. Thus increase our currect membership from 10 000 to over 100 000.
Advocating for Policy Reform
SAYBC is committed to advocating for the removal of restrictive policies such as Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) that have historically limited opportunities fortrue empowerment. We aim to influence national and regional policies that favor free markets, entrepreneurship, and the growth ofyouth-led businesses. We seek to replace these outdated systems with merit-based frameworks that provide equal opportunities for all, based on innovation and productivity rather than race or background.
Promoting Regional Integration through AfCFTA
We are dedicated to advancing the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) as a means to unlock the full economic potentialof the African continent. SAYBC’s goal is to position youth entrepreneurs at the forefront of regional trade, facilitating theirentry into continental markets and enabling them to tap into the vast opportunities offered by AfCFTA. By breaking down trade barriers, we aim to create a level playing field for youth businesses to expand across borders.
Building a Network of Young Business Leaders
SAYBC is committed to building a strong, inclusive, and dynamic network of young business leaders who are passionate about driving economic change. Through this network, we aim to foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and mutual support among youth entrepreneurs, professionals, and organizations. Our goal is to create a community of like-minded individuals who work together to build lasting business success and contribute to the broader economic transformation of South Africa and Africa.
